Meet Jari Anttonen: The Mind Behind the Machine

Jari Anttonen in his home studio in Helsinki - fantastinen.com

After 25 years in the creative industry, I decided to stop playing it safe.

By day, I am a seasoned creative professional, navigating the world of client briefs, deadlines, and brand guidelines. It’s a career built on solving problems for others. But by night, fantastinen.com is where I let the "itch" take over.

This project is my escape from the corporate "polite." It’s where the ideas that were too loud, too strange, or too unconventional finally get a home. Because I still do client work to pay the bills, I have the ultimate luxury here: I don't have to compromise.

If you’re curious about how I think about art and imagery, you can read more in my piece on surreal wall art.

The Process: A Dance with Digital Chaos

I don't just "generate" art. I collaborate with a machine that often fights back.

Using AI—specifically tools like Midjourney, Magnific, and Topaz—is a tug-of-war. I start with a vision, and the AI provides the chaos. Most of my time is spent reining that chaos in, upscaling textures to a gritty, high-definition reality, and refining every pixel in Photoshop until it feels "right."

I don't reference other artists. I want these pieces to feel like they emerged from a place you didn’t know existed—a blend of organic matter and digital dystopia.

Why Fantastinen?

The name is Finnish, but the vision is universal. It’s for the people who want their walls to say something that isn't found in a department store.

Professional Quality: 25 years in the industry means I am obsessed with detail. I don't sell "digital files"; I sell premium, heavyweight physical objects.

Locally Rooted: Based in Helsinki, but fulfilling globally. By printing and shipping as close to you as possible (US, EU, UK), I ensure the fastest delivery with the lowest environmental footprint.

Unfiltered Surrealism: This art isn't for everyone—and that’s the point.

Stay Weird.

If you’ve found a piece here that resonates with you, it’s because we probably share a bit of the same "unconventional" DNA. Take a look around, find something that disrupts your space, and let’s keep things interesting.
