This series grew out of The Order of Rot, but moved away from the religious material toward something more organic — bodies that are still forming, and forming wrong. Each piece is a fragment of a chronicle nobody wrote down: no order to it, no beginning, and no way to tell whether what's being described already happened or is still on its way.
